Detailed Timed Schedule
Following is the tentative schedule for the Lexus Taming the Dragon event. Please check back, as this is the first draft and subject to change as we line up more participation from our sponsors.
Caravan groups leave Atlanta, Charlotte, and other locations (see
various forums for details).
 Arrival
at hotel in Robbinsville Microtel & check-in
Car
wash / touchup for folks who arrive early. Car wash is supposed to
be right next door to the hotel, with four wand bays.
Meet
in the hotel lot or hotel lobby as participants arrive
8:30pm
(estimated) dinner and drinks at a local restaurant TBD. For those
that arrive late that want to join us, we will leave word at the front
desk on our selected food destination and time we left.
8:15
- 8:30 AM Breakfast with all who care to join, location TBD. Group
leaves from the Microtel
9:30
AM Driving or Detail Clinic (topic TBD)
Additional
Wash / Touchup at local car wash as needed
11:15
AM Meet in Microtel Parking lot, gas up and head out on the morning
'warm up drive' en route to the Dragon Launch point. There are several
exciting and challenging route options.
12:30
PM Lunch Meeting at the Tapoco Lodge & join any Saturday-Only
meet participants
The Tapoco Lodge is 4 miles away from the entrance of Deal's Gap on
the NC side. More info --> http://www.tapocolodge.com
This is the location where we will meet those folks who come 'only
for the drive' on Saturday. If you want to prepare a mapquest map
to the Tapoco, use this address as your destination. Their phone

The "Lunch Point" is conveniently also the "Launch Point". We've
made reservations for 40 people at their restaurant for 12:30 pm.
Casual dining; they can also do a box lunch for those that arrive
late upon request. This lodge is a nice relaxed place to meet up
and grab a light bite before the drive. Lots of parking available,
find the Lexus group and park with us.

PM Gather group in parking lot, (including day-trip participants)
for Safety Meeting & Group Formation
1:45
- 2:30 pm Drive the Dragon (leave in groups)
Gather at endpoint to hurl, curse and cry. There are two very large
gravel parking lots that are easy to spot where we'll meet up. One
is just before the lake, the other is right to the side of the lake.
We'll likely stop at both of them to take group pictures.

- 3 pm Official Event Group Meet - Prize Drawings and take pictures
(location is the endpoint lot)

to Robbinsville (or home cites for day-trip folks)
7:30
pm Dinner for those spending the Evening. We will make dinner
reservations once we have a better count on attendees. Potential
presentations from vendors/sponsors demonstrating their products
if they attend.

+ Evening activities at the hotel (hang out, swimming, poker, adult
beverages)
Possible early morning local run or Blue Ridge Parkway drive (if
enough interest)
